GCSE: AQA, GCSE syllabus will be followed. Class Time: Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7.00-8.30pm. AS Level Panjabi AS Level Panjabi is one-year course and the students who have successfully completed their GCSE Panjabi are welcome to join this course. AQA 'AS' Level syllabus will be followed. To design, cut and prepare ladies Panjabi Suits (City & Guilds) (also see the web site for Punjabi suits you purchase ) After the June exams, in the month of July, Progress and Parent Evenings are conducted to discuss the progress of the students. The school has build up a resource centre, which presently have some 200 titles. Overhead projectors, many recorded audio-cassettes and a number of videos are being used as teaching aids. To speed up Panjabi learning and make the students aware of modern technology and of their culture, religion and history, a computer lab of 10 computers has been set up in the school. The school always takes part in the religious festivals such as: Vaisakhi and Gurpurbs. The students of the school present stage programmes on Vaisakhi, Guru Nanak Gurpurb and Guru Gobind Singh Gurpurb. They also take part in the Nagar Kirtans held each year on Vaisakhi and Guru Nanak Gurpurb. It is vital to monitor progress of the students. Therefore, all the students are assessed in the end of December and record is kept. In the month of June exams are conducted and a progress report of the individual student is prepared. The School has made a good record of showing good results every year. Last year 22 students passed their GCSE and 9 students passed 'A'Level Panjabi exams. The school staffs are hard working, committed and well qualified. Apart from their other qualifications, all of them have qualified their RSA Diploma, Teaching in Community Language (Panjabi). To encourage the students and to help in building their self-confidence and esteem, a Prize Distribution Function is organised every year. The students, who take part in different activities, are awarded on the occasion. |
