After the huge success of BEE2’s hit album ‘It’s All A Game’, Metro Music proudly presents Ominous DJ’s - the hottest new DJ Producers hitting the streets with their debut album in June 2003.
No longer a secret… Ominous Dj’s have been circuiting the Asian Club Scene for over five years now. Comprising of four talented individuals: Rek (DJ/MC/Producer), Dips (DJ/Producer), Sav (MC) and Aman (DJ), they started playing on local Radio and Internet shows and numerous functions and events with their ‘Roadshow’ before delving into the world of production.
“We always believed in learning how to walk before we run,” explains lead producer Rek, “…when we wanted to go into production, we new that first we needed to know what the massives wanted. By playing in clubs and events with our Roadshow first, making tunes that work for the crowds became second nature”. This truly is the case with their debut, as it features a great combination of tracks that not only work for the club, wedding and gig scenes but also for those bass-loving cars!!
The album was recorded at Bashment Studios and at The Sound Pipe, with productional support from talented producers: The three man combo – headed by Sunil Kalyan; and Sound Pipe’s Bee2. "The three man combo helped us to develop our style of music and most of the tracks were recorded there. However, we felt Bee2 provided us with a great Desi sound which shows on the track we produced with him on ‘Tod Ke Jawab.”.
The album also features some talented MC’s namely Guffy, who is featured on the title track ‘Sharabi’. Other tracks to look out for are: female vocalist Jatinder Pinky on ‘Lambadan Di’, and ‘Bhangra Panjabi Jatt’ by Pala of new Bhangra group, GPD.
‘Best Kept Secret’ the album is scheduled for release on June 26th 2003.
